Welcome to The Alcaine Bowl For Kids Page!

As you may know I am on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle. We have a very special event coming up on April 2nd - Bowl for Kids' Sake! We had to take a few years off due to COVID but we are excited to bring it back in person. I am starting a team and participating would love for you to start one too and join me on the lanes!
Will you join me? https://bit.ly/35Ascou
Everyone is invited - if you would like to become an event sponsor, or find another way to donate, reach out to me directly.
All funds raised through Bowl for Kids' Sake fund our agency in order to provide more local children with mentoring relationships that are proven to help them succeed in school, avoid harmful behaviors, and reach their full potential. More info on the event: support.bigstri.org/bfks22
I am committed to helping children in the Triangle who are facing adversity succeed in school and life. Last year, 23% of the children in the program had a parent in prison, 75% of the children came from a single parent home and 75% of the children were on free or reduced lunch. Mentors work individually with children to overcome these challenges by actively promoting self-sufficiency and academic achievement.
In spite of these major risk factors, the impact of BBBST’s mentoring program is remarkable. Littles with a Big Brother or Big Sister are 46% less likely to start using drugs, 52% less likely to skip school, 27% less likely to engage in underage drinking and 33% less likely to resolve conflict using violence.
I am proud to support this movement, which believes that all kids have value and the ability to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Thank you for giving generously to support this life-changing program!
